Episode 57 - How to make your first $500 as a Photographer
Listen on Spotify
Listen on Apple Podcast
On today’s episode we give five ways that you, a photographer, can go out and earn $500 with your work today regardless of where you live!
If you’re willing to take an objective look at your skill level and pricing, the only other thing to do is out some action behind these different photography gigs.
Here’s a few photography gigs that can help you make your first $500 as a photographer:
1. Mini’s- You can set up a scene in a single location as a photo set/backdrop and post that you’re taking bookings for “mini sessions”. Typically, these sessions are in 10-15 minute time slots. The reason why these are great for both the photographer and client is because of the quick and short window of time that is involved. So, if you post that you are booking mini sessions in a 2 hour window, you can book 8 15 minute sessions at $100 each (or more if you are a bit more established as a photographer).
2. Product Photography- If you’re wanting to work on improving your photography, but don’t want the added pressure of working with models and posing people, product photography may be your solution! In our online world, products NEED to be photographed so that people can see the product and buy it. You can also do the standard White Background Amazon Photography and even further simplify your workflow.
3. Headshots- Think of how many real estate agents you know. Guess what? They all need headshots! So, if you are friends with someone who is a new agent, it’s a great opportunity to practice on your headshots. In the past, you may have been expected to have a studio to be a headshot photographer, but that stigma isn’t very common anymore. You can shoot headshots anywhere, but just be mindful of your background.
4. Food Menu Photography- Restaurants need finished plate images when they construct or refresh their menu. So, you can reach out to local restaurants if you notice their menu might have some age to it, and offer to shoot new images for some of their finished plates. As a bonus, you also get to eat the food afterwards, so it’s win win if you get the gig to update their menu photos.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us. We’d love to help answer anything you have questions about. Remember, photography and videography are both a journey that has no finish line. You’re always learning and improving and that’s what makes it so fun. Enjoy the process and keep shooting!
Faith and Frame Episodes will air every Monday. We hope you stick around and stay a while!

2:34
again this is dang near shame love Christmas ones yeah this is a a shameful statement I'm probably going to scr up
2:39
$7 and go get another crunchy Bean mate listen let me tell you something that
2:45
doesn't cost you $7 let's hear that we have a free L we do actually a free L
2:51
you don't have to scr up any dollars scr up Z actually unless you want to donate on me so I can get more crunchy beon
2:57
lattes yeah well if you're yeah if you want to support it's uh crun Kickstarter
3:02
you can do that however all you got to do is follow the link below yeah you can go download a free L we call it the blue
3:08
collar L because we developed it uh with kind of the blue collar uh the
3:16
construction industry construction industry that yellow iron dude that yellow iron I don't know I I really like
3:22
the L I use it on my iPhone footage all the time and it just adds a nice little crunch a nice little punch
3:30
to to your footage I dig it add a little Pizzazz adds a little crunchy pecan if you're not already set in your lot
3:36
library or you're just looking for something to toy around with give that a go uh think it as a creative filter if
3:42
if you're not a a camera person it's a nice it's a nice little finisher too I've even I've thrown it on the tail end
3:47
of of more uh edited work so I use YouTube videos all the time there you go Blue col Lu give it a go uh download it
3:55
try it out hey quick question do you think there are any of those excavator erators that drink psls uh no I would
4:04
say based upon my experience the uh operators live off
4:10
of monsters and some of the older ones are probably black coffee okay I can
4:16
deal with that I can deal with that but it's definitely caffeine we got a fun subject for you guys today uh and I want to go ahead jar
4:22
and just get us to the meat and taters the meat and ters of today we're going to talk on how you today MH as a
4:30
photographer o can go make $500 okay that sounds good help me how
4:36
that's a bold statement tell me how that's a bold statement I need $500 I need $500 two days so yeah so you go buy
4:42
your lattes yeah yeah go that's not a lot of lattes in today's time not at seven bucks a popets not no that's what
4:48
uh right right over 50 right over 50 lattes that won't even last me two months that's pretty depressing that's
4:54
sad anyways I do want to preface this uh so we're going to talk about how you can make $500 today as of a
5:00
right regardless of skill level I guess we can say sure um but one thing that we do want to give kind of as a disclaimer
5:06
and it is skill level related I want to dang it lost my train of thought I
5:13
want a caution yeah I want to caution everybody out there especially if you're
5:18
new yeah or regardless of how long you've been photographing I think it's a great thing to assess your pricing yeah
5:25
but you got to be honest you need to be honest with the location that you live in kind of what the what the industry is
5:31
doing right you need to be honest with your skill level with your experience with with you know your end product
5:37
whatever when it comes to processing because with that $500 and the things that we're about to mention you kind of
5:42
have to reverse math it sure you have to reverse math how many of these you would need to do in order to make that $500
5:49
right uh let's just take uh if if you're doing a session and your session fees 250 that would mean that you need to do
5:56
sessions if you're brand spanking new and maybe you just started Charing you're charging 100 bucks maybe you're charging 100 bucks you need five yeah so
6:04
regardless of of what you're doing let's let's be honest and open with our skill level um and our experience I think
6:10
you're just a good Steward of the of the of the craft if you don't cuz I know I
6:16
it's very it's very tempting photography is expensive even if you get gear secondhand it's a big investment on the
6:21
up front to get a camera and a lens and SD card bare minimum just so that you can take a photo oh now you got to edit
6:27
so there's money there too you've got a lot of money before you ever make the first dollar I get it it's tempting you want to recoup that however I think you
6:36
do not only yourself a disservice but you also probably do your client a disservice in many ways if you
6:42
immediately start charging more than maybe your skill level dictates um and
6:48
so like that's one thing that I have always done when I first started I did a lot of free work uh and then I started
6:53
charging 100 bucks a session and so like I've slowly been able to raise those rates as I felt more confident with
6:59
skill level it's one of those things where like it's somebody's hard own dollar it is it is that they are
7:05
spending or giving to you in returned for a service and I mean I don't know I think you're a good Steward if you are
7:12
really in touch with what your current skill level is and I don't want I don't want that that um pre notion that I just
7:20
mentioned to to come off as a negative thing I want anyone and everyone who's stepping into this craft I want you to
7:25
make a billion dollars oh yeah I want you to make all the money you possibly can right but we we also have to be honest with ourselves at some point in
7:32
time too so just keep those things in mind as we're mentioning uh the ways that you can go out today and and make
7:37
$500 in this trade Jared I'm going to let you start us off with number one because it was your idea off camera yeah
7:43
I haven't ever done them just because I've just I guess really ultimately just comes down to laziness I just haven't
7:49
put the work in to do them but I know I know they are good money-making
7:54
opportunities but it's minis many sessions many sessions you can in a 2hour window I've seen it time and time
8:00
and time and time again in a 2our window you can book 15 minute sessions so how many is that in two hours what eight
8:06
that's eight yeah eight sessions right so if you book heck even if you book those minis at a hundred bucks a session
8:13
which I've seen local photographers people love manyi sessions even if it's 50 yeah 50 time 8 I don't know what that
8:21
is 400 it's 400 you're almost to this $500 Mark and you shot for 2 hours now you've got some postprocessing sure but
8:29
cool thing with a mini is the set the scene didn't change right so your
8:34
editing should be it's very consistent should be very simple right it should be a lot of copying and pasting settings
8:40
like we talked about in our last episode saving time in editing yep you should have a lot of time saved in editing when you're doing minis yeah um but they can
8:47
be a great way to uh they're they're they're easily marketed yeah um people absolutely eat
8:55
them up they love the Simplicity of oh I've only got to be there for 15 minutes and I get eight images like this is this
9:02
is a great this is a great turnaround CU I mean I can't get all my a who's ready to to spin an hour somewhere but I can
9:09
do 15 minutes so they're just a really good opportunity to quickly book a a
9:14
two-hour window with multiple sessions yeah and there you go I think too with Minis and and this is something that's
9:20
not really uh I'm not going to say it's not possible with everything that we're going to mention but one thing that I I
9:27
know for a fact with minis is this is an idea and this is a type of work that you
9:33
can literally drop yourself anywhere on the map yeah and do yeah now if if
9:39
you're dropping yourself on the map across the country you may have to have a a pretty stout portfolio to back up
9:45
the fact that you've posted you're going to do a mini session sure but you can literally drop this anywhere on the face of the map and and you can do mini
9:51
sessions yeah if I'm traveling to the p&w next week I can announce in the PM
9:56
PMW BMW that's close can announce in that area that I'm doing many
10:02
sessions and book them yeah I mean it takes a little bit of leg work you got leg work you've got you've got some work
10:07
to do but again if I'm traveling today I'm going to the p&w I can post many sessions and I guarantee you people will
10:13
book because they love them yeah they love the they again they love the Simplicity it's very easy for them they
10:18
literally have to be present for 15 minutes they show up 5 minutes for their session uh you move them into the poses
10:25
there you go yeah it's it's a quick it's a quick Buck what are some ways Jared that you think on on the mini session
10:30
idea what are some ways to make them effective um if you've never done them before if or if you're somebody who is
10:36
currently doing minis maybe you're not experiencing a lot of the bookings that you like what are some ways that you can make that mini session effective in your
10:43
opinion well in my opinion at least locally most of the minis are generally seasonally related you see a lot in the
10:50
fall okay so keep them related yeah you see a lot in the fall you'll see several around Christmas um but what you do
10:57
basically the the whole concept is is you you design a set yeah a lot of
11:03
people will use like the backs of trucks they'll use barns openings they'll throw some hay bals you know you make it
11:08
rustic but you make this like Olden Mill style set in which you move all of your
11:15
subject in and out of right so like it's very easy for you you're shooting the exact same scene just with new people
11:22
right um I think those are the ways that you can be the most effective and the most efficient now the the risk but
11:28
here's the other thing too I've I've I've talked about this before the the risk with minis is like you're going to
11:34
have a lot of the images that look the same well that's true but here's the thing people don't care that that other
11:39
family has the the same photo because guess what it's not those family members it's not their I've personally been a
11:46
part of mini sessions before as as the recipient of a mini session and I didn't care that there was 10 other people in
11:51
the parking lot waiting for their turn it's no different in in the old days when you went to Owen Mills they only had the same backdrops so that's a
11:58
that's a good point this is like the modern day ol and meals session it kind of is and so you can really Turn and
12:03
Burn these um you could book in a good way yeah in a good way well I'm saying if you're talking about trying to make a
12:08
dollar or two with this with this craft this is a good way of doing that uh on a Saturday again it takes a little bit of
12:14
leg work I I wouldn't say today's Thursday I don't know how effective I'd be if I tried to pop one
12:21
up on Saturday which is two days from now that may be a little too quick uh to to unless you're like a very popular
12:27
photographer unless you're a very popular photography uh but Bonnie well now some people could Melissa some
12:33
people could that that's that's that's but if we're starting out and we're trying to make our first few dollars we
12:38
don't have that notoriety you don't have that portfolio to to book those last second gigs so yeah take a little bit of
12:44
time probably give yourself at least a week maybe in a month if you can start planning a month out like here on this day I'm going to have minis from this
12:51
slots or from this this time to this time yeah I don't think you'll have any trouble making some dollars there this
12:57
is a quick side point about minis too I think minis are a great way too if you're if you are newer to photography
13:03
um I think these are a great way to kind of cut your teeth yeah they simplify things they do they simplify a lot of things the the only thing that you
13:09
really have to focus on is is making sure that the families that are coming in or the people that are coming in are nailing their poses you're nailing
13:15
everything that you need to nail in camera because the scene's not changing like like you stated yeah that might change a little bit throughout the day
13:21
is the light changes but you you can dictate what times you shoot at yeah and
13:26
you're not having to come up with an hour of poses either right you've got three four five poses with
13:31
this group of family different family connection or sets like this is just Mom and Dad this is Mom with kids you know
13:37
like so you've got very little that you've got to try to to creatively do so it's a it's a great way to to get you a
13:44
lot of practice reps in without having to have literally an hour two hours
13:49
worth of uh poses and scene spots and all these other things so I like that I
13:54
like that um the second one's kind of funny to me because the first one you you kind of have to like human
14:01
interaction true to be able to do them this second one you can hate people to
14:06
degree and not have to deal with people if you don't want to but still need to make money with your photography and
14:12
that's product photography ooh okay and we've actually done quite a bit of
14:17
product Photography in the past you've recently done some product work actually we started uh one of our first
14:24
commercial clients uh was product Photography they were an apparel company and
14:29
tarel they were uh they were again an apparel company and they sent us uh
14:35
t-shirts every month t-shirts and and hoodies and all kind ofthing and they needed they needed product photography
14:41
for their website for their social media um so if you think of any product that
14:47
you ever see online guess what somebody took a photo of it yes somewhere somehow
14:54
someone took an image that you are now being shown yeah to attempt to sell you
15:00
this product it's on billboards it's on advertisement it's on websites it's on
15:05
social media product photography is something that every product needs so it
15:11
can be a great way to uh have fun creatively yeah um but also not have the
15:17
pressures of trying to pose people or uh you know be polite all the time you know
15:23
cuz sometimes yeah you're dealing with inanimate objects you're dealing with animate objects so you can be mean to them if you want to and they're not
15:28
going to tell anybody they're not going to tell anybody uh so product photography really is a lot of fun and it's it's such a creative playground it
15:34
is your opportunity to to dress uh dress tabletops dress sets uh put supporting
15:41
bits in there for all you Hobby Lobby Fanatics you can go to the Arts and Crafts AIS and go ham there you go thft
15:47
stores are a great place to find props I mean it's just it's it's such a creative
15:52
outlet that honestly I had forgotten how enjoyable
15:58
it was until I shot those knives this past week so it's a lot of fun and product photography too it can be as
16:04
simple or as complicated as you want to make it one of the uh one of the last things that we shot with uh that client
16:11
um that we started with was Amazon white background photography which is the easiest of the easy you yeah it's it's
16:17
the most mundane boring photography but you get a pure white background expose everything properly and fire away it's
16:23
needed yeah that's what Amazon requires they require a white backdrop so it can be as easier or as complic at as you
16:29
want it to be if you're doing a product photo shoot where that product is maybe a lifestyle product like a knife for
16:36
example maybe it's a good idea to you know post it up with some trees or post it up with some some wood or or just
16:43
things that scream hey this is this is a knife and it will cut right it will cut it it will kill there you go but like
16:50
product photography really is a lot of fun and it's really just I mean such a Sandbox if you have the creative freedom
16:56
now you don't have the creative freedom if it's a a white background right but you talk about simple yeah you place
17:02
your lights yeah the dollar to work ratio with white background photography is kind of good it's not the most
17:09
exciting thing but I mean tag on you can pay some bills yeah edit wise done as
17:15
far as practical practical word on product photography so so we've mentioned the fact that you can do it
17:21
yeah um how to get product photography I'm going to go ahead and this kind of Blends into another point but there are
17:27
many many websites out there um and apps that you can use first off Amazon is constantly looking for people
17:33
to review photograph and video of their products right now with Amazon specifically not all of them start out
17:40
paid but there are some on there who will go ahead and pay you for your reviews sure so that could be your easy
17:46
Outlet into product photography uh secondly we can look at apps like upwork M um upwork is actually where we found
17:54
that very first commercial client that's fair that's they had posted a gig wanting product photography
17:59
their apparel we reached out we got the gig and they were sending us clo the next week so uh things like upwork sites
18:06
like freelancer there are companies out there consistently and I mean daily
18:12
right posting product photography gigs and and a lot of a lot of those websites will go ahead and post their budget yeah
18:18
they give you the so you can kind of again just start doing the math it's like oh well this shoot their top dollar
18:23
is 400 bucks for these 62 product images or whatever the whatever the gig is at that point you know okay this is what
18:31
it's paying and also note that a lot of those uh pieces on upwork MH most of
18:38
them are I'll say lower tiered yeah uh with regards to
18:46
to to budget and expectations most of them uh are looking for a photographer
18:53
right they so that means that they don't already have a photographer that it's just like okay I'm sending this stuff to this person they're fishing they're
18:59
trying to find somebody to be in a relationship with so the dollar may not be what you could get doing the exact
19:05
same thing a year from now right but all of those things if you do a few of those that are like I don't know less money
19:12
than what you would ideally like to take for your work um they're all great
19:17
opportunities to build portfolios well build portfolios and and like you said you can build long-term relationships
19:22
the the first client that we had that that we've mentioned now they started out on upw work I I believe their
19:27
initial budget for the the very first round of products that we did was $500 through doing a good job for them
19:36
being great communicators and solving their problem we turned them into a two-year retainer and I believe towards
19:41
the end of their retainer they were paying $1,500 a month yeah and then this this was another mindboggling thing I
19:48
think at the end of each of those two years they gave us Christmas bonuses right so I mean the bonus was like
19:54
another $1,000 each year like they were great to us here's a here's another bonus that may or may not interest you
20:02
um but often times you end up getting to keep the product too yeah you get to keep the products so I've got a billion
20:08
Black Tactical shirts because in hoodies I have them in boxes yeah exactly so so
20:13
I mean so this was an apparel company we got a lot of t-shirts and hoodies out of it it could easily be something that
20:18
you're very interested in so even if the gig isn't there yeah it doesn't hurt
20:24
whatsoever to reach out to this company and say hey uh do you need any product
20:30
photography I would love to shoot some product photography here's another thing that's it's a more of a Long play so it
20:35
doesn't make your $500 today right again more of a Long play but important but if you like a product mhm work buy the
20:43
product and do a hang up job on some product images tag the Hound out of them
20:50
on social media send it to uh their marketing person on Instagram find their
20:55
email addresses send it to them those are all ways that you can get your work in front of the right person and they
21:01
may say we need to send you some product and you know what we can speak on this because we've done it and we do it
21:07
actively still there you go so again not making a dollar today but definitely a
21:12
Long play and I don't know it's always fun to work with something that you enjoy using soct product photography a
21:18
good one uh move us on to the next one Jared O Okay this one's uh it probably
21:25
was a bigger deal um than maybe it is today but it's still a very common thing
21:31
and it's head shots head shot I think head shots are still very in well so
21:36
like companies used to do them all the time like all of your Executives would have corporate head shots and they do
21:42
still do them but they just don't refresh them as often as they used to L them have somebody that they've worked with that they trust but head shot so
21:49
all real estate agents need uh head shots all businesses at least are going to have their Executives head shots on
21:56
their websites um social media is huge now so people need professional LinkedIn
22:01
images all those things say LinkedIn gurus they they love their head shots it's a great opportunity to to get
22:09
practice with uh lighting editing composition all those things but head shots can be a great way to make a few
22:16
dollars as well yeah and the cool thing with headshots too I know a lot of people traditionally when we think head shots uh we think oh I have to have a
22:22
studio to do head shots and and that's just not the case anymore I know you mentioned like real estate uh real estate agents and stuff a lot of real
22:29
estate agents specifically now I think enjoy the environmental style headshot where they are maybe in a pretty
22:36
downtown scene or maybe they're in front of a house that they've listed um so you don't have to have a studio to properly
22:43
execute a headshot I've done uh not very recently but one of the last corporate
22:49
head shots that I did was in downtown Johnson City yeah so we were outside the whole time we did zero Studio work that
22:55
day um he loved them it was an environmental shoot at that point in time with head shots is you want nice even lighting um and you can find that
23:03
in an Alleyway in the middle of the day yeah especially if you're in the city I mean it's just it's so easy to find good
23:09
light and you can literally shoot head shot anywhere yes um which again for you is good news because you can drop
23:14
yourself anywhere on the map yep and go do that and here's the thing like they're again they're you normally shoot
23:21
head shots for an hour right so like they're quick they're quick like 20 30 minutes tops usually uh you get couple
23:28
different backgrounds couple different poses compositions uh there you go I mean it's a it's a great way to to be
23:36
efficient but also I mean you can you can quickly turn those around yeah edits are usually simple so yeah head shot are
23:43
a great way to to make some money I think headed shots are almost like the the Forgotten honey hole when it comes
23:50
to dollar to work ratio because they are so simple yeah yeah absolutely and again
23:56
as far as practical advice on booking head shots reach out first and foremost to your local real estate agents oh yeah
24:03
because I know a lot of them are very very privy on having a professional and I'm going to say recent photo of them
24:10
they have to be they do update theirs a little more often they do they because they're they have to be very image oriented in the industry that they're in
24:16
so they're constantly looking for Refreshers yeah so I would reach out to real estate agents first so yeah don't fall into that first trap of thinking oh
24:23
head shot Studio got to have Studio got to have strobes got to have backgrounds lights all those things no you do not I'd say out to car salesman insurance
24:29
salesman things like that any sales industry related professional well where their face is public facing in some way
24:38
being part of their marketing which car salesman same thing they've got to be constantly in front of people online
24:45
that face that photo needs to be a good representation of them I have an insurance background and do you know
24:50
what was on my badge my head shot well there you go the first thing people saw aside from me in
24:56
person was me again on my P well there you go so yeah there's tons of uses tons
25:02
of uses for head shot and and I'll even like you could even go you maybe you
25:07
don't even want to use the word head shot but companies let's just say portraits yeah just sophisticated but
25:15
it's it's more of a professional right it's more of a business usage yes
25:20
companies uh here's the thing with email signatures most companies now will have a photo of the person along with all
25:28
their contact information it's like a contact card right so there's a great opportunity you could go to a business
25:33
and the business has 15 employees there you go you can update them all you can update every one of
25:40
them I love it so there you go do that simple do that what kind of beat this one up already but upwork freelancer um
25:47
just websites that are already posting gigs so I won't rehash that one but uh
25:52
you had another one and I'm going to say this one's a bonus because it's one that I think a lot of people forget about I
25:57
know I for about it but it's places that we go to every day yeah restaurants boom
26:02
restaurants think about a restaurant what would they need with a photo take social media out of it food when they
26:08
first hand you well actually half the time when you sit there it's already like you sit down it's there the menu
26:14
right the menu the menu now does every uh line item on the menu have a photo no
26:20
no but they have their specials but they have a lot of photos of their food on the menu right and a lot of times you
26:27
can look at those say oo this is we need an update this is old right I wonder if
26:32
they would like updated menu uh menu photos so there's another opportunity
26:40
again and it may not even it may not generate a dollar today this may be
26:45
something where you know you offer to come in for free uh free to fee is a great way to make money I mean it sounds
26:51
so backwards to work for free but it's in the Long play right you
26:57
do a good job because now you're practicing now your portfolio is grown all those things good job you can turn
27:02
into the guy or the girl you can be the guy if you solve their problem Yeah well
27:08
yeah and the process of working with you is pleasing for them yeah they'll
27:13
eventually come back to you and I would say too with restaurant menu photography um if I'm a restaurant owner and
27:19
somebody comes into me requesting to do menu menu photography specifically as long as they've got a a decent enough uh
27:27
port folio related to that I would probably go ahead and pay them that day to do it yeah um if I need it if if if I
27:35
don't already have a person and if I'm already knowing that I'm in need of some updated photos sure we've done some uh
27:42
not a lot I I wouldn't care to get more into that space actually I love the culinary arts well a lot of times Chef's
27:48
Table my actually it is my favorite documentary on Netflix a uh my favorite series I haven't seen it because I don't
27:54
have Netflix but an added benefit is you get to eat yeah you get to eat you
28:01
get to eat the food because I mean they're not going to waste it no so I mean just imagine just imagine with me
28:08
right imagine with me you go to a barbecue joint like Top Choice barbecue and Greenville shout out Rocco and
28:14
you're like hey actually Rocco did Feed Us on a shoot one time he did so this this than you Rocco you fed these hungry
28:20
Souls yeah they've got to prep they've got to make the food to prep the plate right they going to waste it they're not
28:26
going to waste it so yeah Rocco said here Jared and Garrett have some ribs have some sausage have some pork there
28:34
you go have some brisket some baked beans yeah there you go I'm it's an added benefit if you want to go approach
28:41
restaurants and update their menu photos I think I I think with these that
28:46
we've just mentioned we can make a lot of dollars if we put our our feet our feet behind it that's the key yeah
28:53
that's the key overarching theme several of these if you if you didn't pick up on they require some effort well they all
28:59
require effort actually many requires planning a little bit of uh word in the
29:05
in the Forefront you got to advertise head shots uh you're approaching people if you're not being approached so you're
29:11
approaching businesses uh agents all those things and you've got to do that product photography guess what you got
29:16
to reach out to people and say a little bit of footwork takes a little footwork upwork well they post gigs yeah but you
29:23
ain't going to get a single one of them if you don't apply yeah if you don't if you don't apply and still with uh
29:28
restaurant menu photos if the people aren't coming to you and saying hey can you update my menu photos guess what you got do gotta go to them and ask hey
29:35
would you like updated menu photos yeah yeah I don't I don't Tak action it does take action I was G to say I don't think
29:42
that uh any of these are going to fall into your lap but if you need $500 today
29:47
any of these methods is going to be a whole lot easier than going and pitching Universal Studios on your next narrative
29:53
film yeah in my opinion yeah unless you're Spielberg but well think about
29:59
this is an easy one think about like doctor's offices or dentist offices I mean they've got tons of Staff
30:06
yeah they they could all use a professional head shot because it goes on their website it goes on their social
30:11
media all those things so I mean there's tons of opportunity well we all have
30:16
this is the other thing too with most of these we all have people that we know in our immediate circle that are in these
30:22
industries yeah if you know them ask them if they're not ready for it they'll tell
30:28
somebody who is yeah oh that's the other thing that's referrals 101 I have been watching a guy on YouTube he's building
30:34
a he's building a video company and he's very very heavily implementing this free to fee method here's the crazy part he
30:41
has reached out to tons of people Dennis office all kinds of things saying hey I'll come shoot you some uh some free
30:47
content people still tell them no yeah you're still going to get NOS welcome to sales that blows my mind who would not
30:55
take free content or free photos like that just blows my mind but but the ones
31:00
who don't they're still going to tell you somebody who they think might know that's true referrals are important so
31:05
yeah ask ask it's all you got to do reach out to people reach out to the
31:12
people you know yeah they'll refer you to people uh that they know that they know or they might
31:18
need what you're asking for but it does take action it does it does so there
31:23
here's a few quick ways that reasonably quick ways that you can make uh make
31:29
some money with your photography by taking action in or taking matters into your own hands now obviously if you've
31:35
got inbound leads and inbound inquiries people asking you for sessions that's different I mean there's where your
31:40
money comes from but if you're trying to supplement or add to well guess what they're not coming in you got go out got
31:48
to go to them there you go to the highways and the hedges uh Jared on that note there are some things that our
31:55
audience can do in the way of reaching out to us yeah with with a couple of
32:00
things what are those uh you talking about DMs I mean yeah they can reach out to with DMS uh no but you can actually
32:08
if you want to sure I love I love chatting sure um send us a DM or you can
32:14
just simply leave us a review yeah uh leave us a comment stars and bars stars and bars ratings and reviews obviously
32:20
these are not the only ways you can make money with photography so in the event that you saw this and you're like oh dude you're missing the most obvious one
32:27
yeah put it in us know someone someone is going to be helped by that so yeah leave us a comment say oh this is how I
32:33
do it o you should definitely try this if you know somebody who's just now starting in their photographic Andor
32:39
videographic journey and you think they could benefit send this video to them we would love to help them out yep there
32:44
you go and on that note Jared here is the hard part we'll catch you guys next time ha
32:51
didn't make that very hard we'll see yall see y'all later
